This is a minimally invasive procedure to take care of deep naso labial creases or early signs of aging like jowls and mid face descent. This is done with the use of barbed threads to lift the facial skin and hitch it up. This helps by counteracting the effects of gravity. The results are decent but temporary and not long lasting as a traditional face lift. But, it is a good way to postpone a facelift by a few years.
It is usually done under local anaesthesia and sedation as an out patient procedure. A well tolerated procedure. Problems: The initial problems will be related to the procedure like swelling , bruising and pain. Long term problems are few an most common being infection of the thread in which case it has to come out. Rarely nerve injuries may occur.
