Facial
Augumentation
Isolated facial augmentation
or contouring may be required to correct
facial asymmetries or to augment certain areas of the face. The most
common areas being the cheek prominences, the chin and the jaw.
Sometimes there may be
isolated facial deformities which need
correction by materials like bone or for soft tissue in the form of fat
or dermafat grafts. Artificial materials like MEDPOR or SILICONE are
used as implants to correct specific deficiencies.
The most common augmentations
done are, for the hollowness of the
cheeks where fat grafting can be done, to make the chin more prominent
and for nose augmentation, where usually implants are used.
